Meeting Title: Curriculum improvements for students with disabilities

Agenda Items

1. The Department Program Curriculum was reviewed. Discussions were held on the classification of specialization courses, core courses, competency-supporting courses, and other courses within the curriculum.

2. It was discussed to organize an information meeting for students with disabilities on February 23, 2026, at 13:30, in Faculty Room A303, to be conducted by the Faculty Coordinator, Lecturer Hande Boğazlıyan Turanlı.

3. Courses proposed to be removed from the curriculum were discussed. Due to their outdated content, it was proposed to remove the following courses from the Department Curriculum and replace them with information systems–oriented courses within the same categories:

   • YBS353 Accounting Information Systems (Professional Elective, 5th Semester)

   • YBS256 Total Quality Management and Standards (Professional Elective, 4th Semester)

   • YBS362 Integrated Marketing Communication in the Postmodern Era (Professional Elective, 6th Semester)

   • YBS482 Social Media and Public Relations (University Elective)

4. It was discussed to offer the YBS481 E-Business University Elective course, which is currently offered in the 7th semester, in both the 7th and 8th semesters.

Decisions

1. The Department Program Curriculum was reviewed, and specialization courses, core courses, competency-supporting courses, and other courses were officially defined.

2. It was decided to organize an information meeting for students with disabilities on February 23, 2026, at 13:30, in Faculty Room A303, to be conducted by the Faculty Coordinator, Lecturer Hande Boğazlıyan Turanlı.

3. Courses to be closed in the curriculum were discussed. Professional Elective V. Semester YBS353 Accounting Information Systems, Professional Elective IV. Semester YBS256 Total Quality Management and Standards course, Professional Elective VI. Semester YBS362 Integrated Marketing Communication in the Postmodern Era and University Elective YBS482 Social Media and Public Relations courses were discussed to be closed due to their obsolescence in the Department Curriculum and to be replaced with IT-focused courses from the same categories.

4. It was decided to offer the YBS481 E-Business University Elective course in both the 7th and 8th semesters.
