1. Do I need to renew my registration every semester? Do I have to apply in person?
Students who continue their education must renew their registration at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester within the dates announced in the academic calendar, following the instructions published on the University’s official website. After completing the online registration process, students must personally visit their academic advisor within the announced dates to finalize the registration approval. Students who cannot appear in person due to valid excuses may authorize a legal representative to complete the process on their behalf (a notarized power of attorney is required).
2. What is the passing grade for the class/semester? What are the consequences of failing to achieve this grade?
Students must take all courses offered in the first two semesters of their program. Starting from the third semester, the normal course credit load for each semester is the load specified for the student's program. Students with a GPA (grade point average) below 2.00 can register for courses equal to the normal semester course credit load (30 ECTS). Students with a GPA of 2.00 or above may register for up to 50% more credits than the normal course load for the semester (45 ECTS). These GPA thresholds, which determine the maximum credit load a student can take, apply at the end of each semester.
3. My retaken course overlaps with another one. Can I take it from the other program (day/evening)?
If there is a schedule conflict between courses, a student enrolled in the day program may take the lower-level course from the evening program, and vice versa.
4. Is it mandatory to attend summer school?
Summer school is optional.
It is offered to allow students to:
retake failed courses,
improve their GPA,
take courses they could not register for during the Fall or Spring semester, or
take upper-level courses if they are academically successful.
5. How many courses can I take during summer school? Can I take a course I have never taken before?
Students may register for a maximum of four (4) courses during summer school. They may take courses they failed or could not take during the Fall and Spring semesters.
6. Can I take upper-level courses during regular semesters or summer school?
Students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher and meet the success requirement can take upper-level courses. The success requirement means that the student must not have any failed or untaken courses.
7. Can I take courses from another university during summer school?
If a course is not offered or cannot be taken at our University during the summer school, it may be taken from another university, provided that the course credit and content are approved by the relevant Department Head. Students from other universities may also attend our University’s summer school.
8. When can I take the single-course exam? When should I apply?
At the end of the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters, students who have completed attendance requirements but failed only one course (grade FF or YZ), or who have passed all courses but cannot graduate due to a low GPA, are granted one additional exam right for a single course on the date specified in the academic calendar.
However, students whose GPA would still remain below 2.00 even after passing this exam are not eligible.
Eligible students must apply in writing to their faculty no later than five (5) working days before the exam date announced in the academic calendar.
9. Is class attendance mandatory during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters?
Yes. Students must attend at least 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of practical sessions. Those who do not meet attendance requirements receive a “NA (Non-Attendance)” grade and are not allowed to take the exam for that course.
10. I missed my midterm or final exam due to an excuse. How can I apply for a make-up exam?
Applications for make-up exams must be submitted within five (5) working days from the start of the excuse period, either in person, by fax, or by other methods determined by the relevant University committees, to the Faculty Dean’s Office. If submitted by fax, the original document must be delivered within five (5) working days. Late applications are invalid. For medical reports, this five-day period begins on the date the report is issued.
11. How can I contact the academic staff?
You can access the contact details of academic staff members via the University Directory or through the Faculty’s official web page.
In cases related to course registration or advising, it is recommended that you contact your advisor by email rather than by phone, as this helps reduce workload and ensures a more effective response.
12. Where can I find the registration, renewal, and exam dates?
All relevant dates can be found under the Academic Calendar section on the University’s official website.
13. How can I access the course content, syllabus, and course materials?
You can access detailed information about course contents and credits through the Education Information System (EBS):
