On December 26, 2024, a significant disaster awareness program was organized for Management Information Systems (MIS) students with the participation of Ercüment DİYAR, Director of Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management in Bilecik. The program focused on raising awareness about disaster preparedness, covering in detail what should be done before, during, and after a disaster.

Mr. Ercüment provided valuable insights into the three key phases of disaster management: preparedness, response, and recovery. He also shared detailed information about the work of AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), one of Türkiye’s leading institutions in the field of disaster management, and discussed how its performance can be improved. Additionally, the AFAD volunteer program was introduced to students.

A short simulation drill was conducted to help students act more consciously during emergencies. It demonstrated the necessary steps to take in the event of a disaster. The session concluded with a token of appreciation and a plaque presented to Mr. Ercüment.
