Visa Exam Excuse Request

For the excuse application for the Midterm Exam (Midterm Exam), it is necessary to fill in the make-up exam petition and send it with wet signature to the physical and electronic address of our Faculty within five working days at the latest from the date of the exam. Applications that are incomplete, unsigned and not sent in due time will not be processed.

Legislation Provisions:

(1) The application regarding the excuse is made to the relevant unit in person, by fax or by another method to be determined by the relevant committees of the University, within five working days from the beginning of the excuse period. In applications made by fax, the original of the document is delivered to the relevant unit within five working days. Applications made outside of this period are invalid. However, in health reports, this period starts from the date of issuance of the rest report.
(2) If the excuses of the students who fulfill the obligation to attend the course are accepted by the board of directors of the relevant unit within the framework of the Directive for Just and Valid Reasons, the make-up exams for the mid-term exams they cannot take are held within the thirteenth week of the relevant semester courses.
(3) A student who fulfills the obligation to attend the course, but cannot take the exams because he is assigned by the University, may take the make-up exam for the mid-term exams he could not take. The make-up exams of these students are determined by the decision of the board of directors of the relevant unit.
(4) Make-up exams are not held for exams other than mid-term exams.
(5) A student whose excuse is accepted by the board of directors of the relevant unit cannot take the exams within the excuse period. Actions shall be taken against the student who acts on the contrary, in accordance with the Higher Education Institutions Student Disciplinary Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 18/8/2012 and numbered 28388, and the exams taken by the student are cancelled.
(6) After the first two weeks following the beginning of the semester courses; Students who are newly registered to the university and students who are added late due to problems in adjustment take the make-up exam during the semester. Among these students, those who apply to their units in writing can also take the mid-term exam instead of the mid-term make-up exam. The exam of those who take the mid-term exam, although they do not apply to their unit in writing, will be cancelled.

 

Health-Related Excuses

(1) The reports to be received by the students and the application deadlines are arranged as follows.
a) Reports: The rest reports of the students regarding their health problems, which cover at least 3 days, are used for excused registrations, make-up exams and academic leave applications.
1) Reports or delegation reports from hospitals,
2) The reports they received from the hospitals they went to in case of emergency,
3) Reports from the family doctor,
b) Application Period: Students submit a petition to the relevant Dean's Office and Directorates within 5 (five) working days from the start of the report, at the latest, while they are on sick leave. Those who do not apply within this period shall be deemed to have given up on exercising their rights.
c) Evaluation of Reports: The Board of Directors of the relevant unit checks the compliance of the reports received with the directive and accepts or rejects them.

Natural disasters
Provided that the student has had to suspend his education due to natural disasters and is deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit, provided that he/she has documented it with a document to be issued by the highest civil authority of the region or by the legal persons/organizations authorized by him, they are considered excused in applications for excused registration, make-up exams and academic leave applications. 

Serious Illness of Relatives
If the student's first degree relatives certify that he has to suspend his education due to the absence of another person to take care of him, in case of serious illness, and if it is approved by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit, they are considered excused in the applications for excused registration, make-up exams and academic leave.

Death
If the student certifies the death of his first and second degree relatives and is approved by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit, they are considered excused in their applications for excused registration and make-up exams.

Economic reasons
If the student certifies his/her request to suspend his education due to economic reasons and is approved by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit, they are considered excused in the applications for excused registration and academic leave until the end of the working day at the latest in the fourth week of each semester.

Detention, Detention or Conviction
If the student certifies detention, detention or convictions that do not remove the student's status in terms of the content and consequences of the sentence, or that do not require the dismissal of the student as per the Disciplinary Regulations, and if the relevant unit is deemed appropriate by the Executive Board, they are considered excused in applications for excused registration, make-up exams and academic leave.

Military service
Regardless of the title, if the student loses the right to postpone, or if the postponement is lifted and he is recruited to the military and is approved by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit, they are considered excused in their applications for academic leave.

Appointment and Assignment
Students with military or civilian official duties are deemed excused in their excused registration, make-up exams and academic leave applications if they document their assignment or assignment outside the city where the Dean's Office and Directorates they are registered by the institutions they are affiliated with and if they are approved by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit.

Scholarship, Internship and Research
If the students document that they have obtained opportunities such as scholarships, internships and research that will contribute to their education and training abroad, academic leave may be granted for one time, with the decision of the Board of Directors of the relevant unit. An application for this leave can be made until the end of the fourth week of each semester at the latest.

Sports and Cultural Events
In the event that the students represent their Country, University and the Dean's Office and Directorates to which they are affiliated in sports and cultural events, provided that they are documented, they are considered excused in their excused registration, make-up exams and academic leave applications, if the relevant unit is deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors during the period they attend, including the road.

Conflict of Exams
In case of overlapping exams, students are deemed excused from their exams held on the same date and time, provided that they are certified, if approved by the Board of Directors of the relevant unit.

Other Circumstances
Students are considered excused in other cases that the Board of Directors of the relevant unit will accept as excuses, in excused registrations, make-up exams and academic leave applications.
For the cases not mentioned in the directive, the provisions of the relevant Legislation, Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Graduate Education and Examination Regulation, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation, Associate Degree Education and Examination Regulation and Summer School Regulations are valid.
