Erasmus+ Study and Traineeship Mobility

The Erasmus+ Programme is an exchange program managed by the European Commission that offers higher education students the opportunity to study or do an internship abroad. The program aims to encourage intercultural learning while developing foreign language skills and professional competencies. Current Announcement: 2024 Project Period Announcement

 

🏫 Erasmus Study Mobility

Students can study for 1 or 2 semesters at universities with which bilateral agreements exist. The courses taken must be recognized according to the principle of full recognition in the Department of Economics.

Participation Requirements:

  • Enrollment Status: Must be a full-time student registered at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University.

  • Class: Must have completed at least the 1st year (preparatory and scientific preparatory students cannot apply).

  • Academic Average: Must have a minimum of 2.20 / 4.00.

  • Foreign Language Score: A minimum of 50 points from the Erasmus Language Exam or a valid score from equivalent exams (YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL, IELTS).

  • ECTS Load: Must have a minimum course load of 30 ECTS during the period abroad.

  • Bilateral Agreement: Application must be made to a university with an agreement with the Economics department. Current list: [Partner Universities](Anlaşmalı Üniversiteler)

  • Duration:

    • Minimum 2 months, maximum 12 months (usually 1 semester).

 

💼 Erasmus Traineeship Mobility

obility allows students to gain professional experience at an institution abroad. The internship must be in a field related to the department (economics, finance, marketing, etc.).

Participation Requirements:

  • Must be a registered, full-time student at the university.

  • Academic Average: Minimum of 2.20 / 4.00 for undergraduate level.

  • English Proficiency: 50+ points from the Erasmus Language Exam or equivalent exams.

  • Acceptance Letter: A traineeship acceptance letter from an institution must be submitted (latest by March 3, 2025).

  • A bilateral agreement is not required.

  • Duration:

    • Minimum 2 months, maximum 3 months (with grant). Longer periods are possible without a grant.

💶 Grant and Support

Students receive a monthly grant financed by the European Commission for study and traineeship mobility.

  • Grant Amount: Determined according to the cost of living in the destination country.

  • Travel Support: A one-time grant is also provided based on distance for round-trip travel expenses.

  • Green Travel Grant: Additional grant for those using low-carbon transport (e.g., bus, train).

  • Additional Grant: Additional grants may be provided for students who are relatives of martyrs/veterans, disabled students, or economically disadvantaged students.

📩 How to Apply?

  1. Log in to https://turnaportal.ua.gov.tr using e-Government credentials.

  2. Fill out the application form and upload the required documents.

  3. Upon completion, the "Download Application Form" button will appear. This form is your exam entrance document.

  4. Incomplete or partially submitted applications in the system will not be evaluated.

📖 What is Erasmus+?

The Erasmus+ Programme is a program financed by the European Union that promotes student and staff exchange between higher education institutions. Students can receive academic education abroad during a specific period of their studies or gain work experience by completing an internship at an institution. In this way, students gain an international experience that supports not only their academic development but also their cultural, social, and personal growth. With Erasmus+, it is possible to live in another country, experience a different education system, meet new cultures, and improve foreign language skills.

All mobility activities carried out under the Erasmus+ Programme are based on bilateral agreements. A student can apply for study mobility if there is an Erasmus agreement between their university and the university they plan to attend. This requirement is not sought for traineeship mobility, but the institution the student is accepted by must be eligible within the Erasmus framework.

📚 Academic Recognition

Students participating in study mobility are obligated to ensure the equivalence of the courses they take abroad with their counterparts in their own department based on the principle of full recognition. This process is carried out through the 'Learning Agreement' document prepared between the student and the department coordinator. Courses successfully completed by students returning from Erasmus are recorded on their transcripts and included in their semester average.

 

💡 Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply for Erasmus before graduation? ✔️ Yes. However, even if the traineeship mobility starts after graduation, you must be a student during the application period.

I could not take the English exam. What can I do? ✔️ If you have a valid score from a previously taken equivalent exam (YDS, TOEFL, etc.), you can declare it during the application.

Can I apply for both study and traineeship mobility? ✔️ Yes. However, a grant is provided for only one. A -10 penalty score is applied to the preferred type.

Will my courses abroad be recognized? ✔️ Yes. Course equivalence is ensured through the "Learning Agreement" signed before departure.
