About Our Program

Art and Design, the culture that forms the basis of social life, is a product of the historical process. Interior Design is also within this field. Nowadays, people develop and use original designs of their own culture and traditions in the spaces they live in, using a combination of aesthetics, functionality and technology. Changing consumer needs and requirements; It increases the production of "alternative art and design" products in the production systems of businesses that want to take a place in the sector operating in the field of interior design. In today's world where quality and competition are intense and consumer needs are changing, the professional competencies to be gained by individuals to be employed in the field of Interior Design have gained great importance. In this context, our program, which was opened in 2018, accepted its first students in the 2019-2020 academic year. Due to the high number of graduates of our program, which had its first graduates in 2021, the number of employment in the sectors is increasing every year.

According to research conducted throughout Türkiye, one of the biggest problems of industrial organizations, especially businesses producing for interior spaces, is the lack of technical personnel who can make original designs. Our students, who complete the requirements of the program, graduate with the title of "Interior Design Technician" as individuals who have the design knowledge and culture needed by the sector and the technical equipment related to design and production, in order to fill this gap. Our graduating students can be employed in the public or private sector, and if they wish, they can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and continue their 4-year undergraduate education if they are successful.

The courses included in the two-year course plan of our program are given in workshops and laboratories such as Computer Laboratories, Wood Workshop, Construction Workshop, Material Testing Laboratory within the Vocational School. In addition, with the 3+1 education system that started in the 2017-2018 academic year, after our students study at the school for three semesters, our students who wish to gain market experience by receiving practical training in any business or institution related to their field for one semester. During this process, our students are insured by our university. In addition to all these, all our students reinforce their knowledge and skills by doing a 30-working-day summer internship in a business or institution related to the field of their choice and deemed appropriate by the faculty members of our program.

It is aimed to train qualified personnel for the sector by offering the Wood Workshop, Reinforced Concrete Works Workshop, Technical Drawing Classes and Various Computer Laboratories within our Vocational School to the students of our program.

Our workshops contain equipment such as various hand tools, machines, benches and auxiliary equipment.

In our Technical Drawing Classes, our students can prepare hand-made drawings, projects, etc. There are 50 professional drawing tables that can be adjusted in angle and height, which will enable them to easily carry out works such as.

In our Computer Laboratories, our students can also prepare drawings, projects, etc. that need to be done on computers. We have computers loaded with various drawing/design programs that will enable them to do their work easily.

Apart from all these, our students can also use the facilities such as sports fields, cafeterias, dining halls, etc. on our University campus so that they can spend the time they have left after their classes.
