GENERAL INFORMATION
The Environmental Protection and Control Program, which is affiliated to the Department of Environmental Protection Technologies, admitted students for the first time in the 2022-2023 academic year and gave its first graduates in the 2023-2024 academic year. It is a program that provides theoretical and practical training for the sustainable use of natural resources by solving and controlling environmental problems that arise as a result of rapid developments, industrialization and rapid population growth in the focus of sustainability and climate change in the world today. Global climate change, increase in the rate of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, ozone depletion, deforestation, pollution of seas and inland waters, waste materials (garbage, industrial wastes, toxic wastes), soil pollution, deterioration of the balance and health of the forest ecosystem, destruction of wetland ecosystems and decrease in biodiversity are considered as the main environmental problems. The aim of the Environmental Protection and Control Program is to train intermediate staff (Technicians) who are aware of the environmental problems listed above, especially those needed by businesses or institutions for the disposal of wastes that cause air, water and soil pollution without harming the environment. In the program, theoretical and practical courses are carried out with 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor and 1 Lecturer.
In the Environmental Protection and Control program, 3 semesters of the education given over 4 semesters are in the form of formal education and 1 semester is organized as full-time applied education in enterprises / institutions depending on the preference of the students.
