Inspiring Women in Mathematics Panel Organized

The panel “Inspiring Women in Mathematics” was organized jointly by the Women's Studies Application and Research Center of our University and the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science.

On Wednesday, May 15th, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sıddıka Özkaldı Karakuş and Mathematics Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Figen Uysal attended the program held in the Faculty of Science Conference Hall as speakers.

In her speech, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sıddıka Özkaldı Karakuş talked about why she chose her profession, the happiness of educating students, her life experiences and her academic process. Mathematics Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Figen Uysal made a presentation about the life story of 6 mathematicians.

After the question and answer session, the program ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the speakers by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Koyun, Dean of the Faculty of Science.
