Bilecik Seyh Edebali University

Established by Law No. 5662, which came into effect after its publication in the Official Gazette under Law No. 26536 on May 29, 2007, our university started its teaching activities with the appointment of Prof. Dr. Azmi ÖZCAN as the first Rector in December 2007.

At the beginning, the Faculty of Science and Letters, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Sciences were established affiliated to the Rectorate. Later, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Osmaneli Vocational School, Pazaryeri Vocational School, Gölpazarı Vocational School, Söğüt Vocational School affiliated to Dumlupınar University, School of Health and Vocational School of Health Services affiliated to Osmangazi University, Vocational School, and Bozüyük Vocational School affiliated to Anadolu University were incorporated into our university.

The name of Bilecik University was changed to Bilecik Seyh Edebali University after Law No. 28276 dated April 27, 2012 was published in the Official Gazette.

In accordance with Article 130 of the Turkish Constitution and Article 13 of the Law on Higher Education No. 2547, our President Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN appointed Prof. Dr. İbrahim TAS as the Rector of Bilecik Sheikh Edebali University.

As his term had expired, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim TAS was replaced by Prof. Dr. Sükrü Beydemir through Law No. 2020/91 published in the issue of March 4, 2020. Prof. Dr. Sükrü Beydemir was appointed and started his service with the handover ceremony on March 5.
