‘Engineering Career as a Woman Seminar’ was organised by the Career Centre Coordination Office of our University on Tuesday, 3 December, with Ebru Doğutepe, Director of Environment and Public Relations, Gökçen Çetiner Sevilgen, Chief Sustainability and Compliance Engineer, Arzu Uçar, Database and Modelling Chief, and Seçil Uslu, Environmental Engineer.
In the event held at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Conference Hall, it was emphasised that despite the prejudices faced by women in the engineering profession, these obstacles can be overcome with self-confidence and determination. Based on their own experiences, the speakers stated that women can have successful careers with their knowledge and determination without positive discrimination. In addition, the importance of gender equality in business life was emphasised. In the interactive part of the seminar, students asked questions to the speakers and received information about career choice, career planning, and difficulties encountered in business life. In the event, inspiring suggestions were presented to students who aim to pursue a career in engineering.
