Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities of the Dean

  • Preside over faculty boards, implement the decisions of faculty boards, and ensure regular collaboration among faculty units.
  • Provide a report to the university rector on the general status and functioning of the faculty at the end of each academic year and when requested.
  • Inform the university rector about the budget and staffing needs of the faculty, along with justifications. Present the budget proposal, including recommendations from the faculty management board to the university rector after obtaining their opinions.
  • Exercise general supervision and oversight over the units of the faculty and personnel at all levels.

Deans are primarily responsible to the rector for the rational use and development of the teaching capacity of the faculty and its affiliated units, taking security measures when necessary, providing necessary social services to students, ensuring the regular and organized conduct of educational, scientific research, and publication activities, overseeing and controlling all activities, monitoring, checking, and being directly responsible to the rector for follow-up, control, and obtaining results.

Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities of the Faculty Board

  • Determine the principles, plans, programs, and the academic calendar for the faculty's education, research, and publication activities.
  • Select members for the faculty management board.

Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities of the Faculty Management Board

  • Assist the dean in implementing the principles determined by the faculty board.
  • Ensure the implementation of the faculty's education, plan, and programs.
  • Prepare the faculty's investment, program, and budget proposal.
  • Make decisions on matters brought by the dean related to the faculty's administration.
  • Decide on the admission, course exemptions, and removal of students, as well as decisions regarding education, exams, and procedures.

Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities of the Deputy Dean

  • Act as a deputy for the dean in their absence.
  • Perform tasks assigned by relevant laws and regulations.
  • Carry out tasks delegated through the transfer of authority.

Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities of the Faculty Secretary

  • Be familiar with all legislation related to their duties and execute all administrative tasks.
  • Prepare weekly reports on tasks and present them to the relevant manager.
  • Coordinate the division of tasks among administrative, technical, and general service personnel in the unit.
  • Make recommendations to the dean for the appointment of administrative and general service personnel.
  • Act as a rapporteur in the Faculty Board and Faculty Management Board without voting rights.
  • Prepare and distribute the agenda for the Faculty Management Board and Faculty Disciplinary Board.
  • Ensure that decisions from the boards are sent to the relevant authorities and archived.
  • Ensure necessary security measures are taken in the building premises.
  • Arrange the leaves of administrative and general service personnel without disrupting workflow processes.
  • Ensure compliance with cost-cutting measures.
  • Hold periodic meetings with administrative and general service personnel and take necessary measures for efficient work.
  • Ensure fair distribution of work among personnel, monitor their attire, and regulate administrative personnel's areas of responsibility and units.
  • Maintain personal files of academic and administrative personnel.
  • Ensure the organized handling of student affairs in the unit.
  • Maintain the orderly state of unit storerooms.
  • Handle the circulation, routing, and conclusion of documents received from the EBYS.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed by the movable asset record controller in all kinds of purchases.
  • Prepare the unit budget draft.
  • Ensure the regular cleaning, maintenance, and repair services of the unit building and premises.
  • Review and oversee requests for book exhibitions, stands, and posters within the unit.
  • Assist in providing necessary social services to students.
  • Provide necessary warnings regarding the implementation of occupational health and safety measures, remind about keeping doors and windows closed after working hours, and conduct inspections.
