19 October 2026 Monday

Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University continues to pursue physical investments in its educational infrastructure with determination, aiming to provide students with more qualified, modern, and comfortable learning environments. As part of these investments, which are intended to expand the University’s educational capacity and create contemporary learning spaces that meet students’ evolving needs, the new building of the School of Foreign Languages, located on the Central Campus, has been completed and opened for use following the Rectorate’s extensive efforts.

The new building was constructed to address the growing number of students and expanding educational activities at the School of Foreign Languages, which had outgrown its existing physical capacity. Completed in a short period of time, the building has been designed to enable students to study in a more modern, safe, and comfortable environment. Planned to support the effective and efficient delivery of educational activities, the new building has a total indoor area of 1,031 square metres and houses nine classrooms and 14 staff offices. It provides physical infrastructure that meets the needs of both students and academic and administrative staff. In addition, the building includes an outdoor area of 275 square metres and a 50-square-metre shared-use area where students can spend time outside class hours.

Accessibility was also considered a priority in this student-centred project. As part of the arrangements made in and around the building, an accessible pathway was constructed to ensure safe and convenient access for students with disabilities. These improvements have helped create a safe and inclusive educational environment that takes into account the needs of all students.

In addition to its modern facilities, the new School of Foreign Languages building stands out for its technological infrastructure and has been designed in line with the smart building concept. The automated heating system operates through the integration of central control units, smart thermostats, and precision sensors. Heating schedules and remote control via computer enable the system to be managed efficiently according to actual needs, helping to prevent unnecessary energy consumption and improve energy efficiency. In this respect, the new building combines contemporary facilities that prioritise the comfort of students and staff with technological infrastructure and energy efficiency. It also makes a significant contribution to the University’s commitment to the effective and efficient use of resources, the development of a sustainable campus, and the integration of technological innovations into educational environments.

Emphasising the importance of the University’s investments in educational infrastructure, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Zafer Asım Kaplancıklı, stated:

“We remain firmly committed to strengthening our University’s educational infrastructure, expanding contemporary learning environments that meet our students’ needs, and continuously improving our campus facilities. We regard every investment we make to provide our students with higher-quality educational opportunities, support their academic and social development, and prepare them for the future in the best possible way as a valuable investment in the future of our University. I wish the new School of Foreign Languages building every success and hope that it will bring lasting benefits to our University, our students, and all our colleagues. I would also like to emphasise that we will continue to bring new investments to our University to further strengthen our educational infrastructure.”
