What is the Youth Program?

With this program, young people can participate in various activities in Turkey or abroad, make projects, prepare international or local projects.

Who can apply? There are various opportunities for all young people in the Youth in Action Program. Civil Society Organisations, Public Institutions and ordinary groups (not a member of an organisation? Then form a group! Get at least 4 young people together, make a group as gender balanced as possible, give your group a name and apply! Young people who want to prepare projects and gain experience in the field of non-formal education can apply to the free trainings and meetings announced in the news and events section of our website. English-speaking young people/youth workers can apply for the overseas trainings/seminars announced in the same section.

Is there a foreign language requirement? No, there is not. Young people who do not speak a foreign language can also participate in the projects.

The programs under the Youth in Action Program are called Actions.

Action 1.1 Youth Exchanges,

Action 1.2 Youth Initiatives,

Action 1.3 Youth Democracy Projects,

Action 2 European Voluntary Service,

Action 3.1 Cooperation with EU Neighbouring Countries,

Action 4.3 Training and Networking for Youth Workers and Youth Organisations

Action 5.1 Meetings for Young People and Those Responsible for Youth Policy.

 

Accepted age groups: 13-30 for Action 1.1, 15-30 for Action 1.2, 13-30 for Action 1.3, 18-30 for Action 2, 13-30 for Action 3.1 Youth Exchanges, unlimited for Action 3.1 Training and Networking, unlimited for Action 4.3, 15-30 for Action 5.1. For group leaders, there is usually no age limit.

There is support in the form of grants in the Youth in Action Program: Action 1.1, Action 1.2, Action 1.3, Action 3.1, 4.3 or 5.1 if you want to do your dream project together with groups of young people from EU countries; Action 1.2 if you want to do it only in Turkey and without foreign partners (3-18 months), Action 2 if you want to go to EU countries for 2-12 months to do European Voluntary Service. If your project includes partners from Balkan, Caucasian or Mediterranean countries, you can apply for Action 3.1, and if you aim at youth participation in democracy, you can apply for Action 1.3. Youth exchange activities are included in both 1.1 and 3.1. Activities such as seminars, training courses are possible under 4.3 and again under 3.1. If you are an organisation, you can prepare an Action 2 host organisation project and host young people from EU countries and work together with them for 2-12 months in volunteering activities.
