Nursing Week was celebrated at our university
An event was organized by the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of our University within the scope of Nursing Week.
On Wednesday, May 15, our Rector Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, as well as the provincial protocol and academicians attended the event held at Şeyh Edebali Culture and Congress Center.
The program started with the opening speech of Nursing Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Bayrak Kahraman and continued with the speeches of Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Ali İrfan Güzel and Rector Prof. Dr. Beydemir.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Beydemir said: “Nurses have taken part in the field with many areas of expertise such as treatment, care, counseling and education for the needs of the society in the natural disasters we have experienced. Considering the fact that eighty percent of health service practitioners are nurses, it is noteworthy that nurses are the key health workers for a healthier society and a developing economy.”
Prof. Dr. Hülya Bulut, Faculty Member of Gazi University Faculty of Nursing and Vice President of Turkish Nurses Association, made a presentation on “Our Nurses are Our Future: The Economic Power of Care” emphasized the strengthening of health systems and the economic power of care in meeting increasing global health needs.
At the end of the program, the music recital of the students of the Department of Nursing and the Faculty of Medicine gave the participants a pleasant experience.
