Prof. Dr. Zafer Asım Kaplancıklı, who was appointed as the Rector of our University with the Presidential Decree No. 2024/144 published in the Official Gazette dated May 25, 2024, started his duty.

On Monday, May 27, successor and predecessor Rectors and Senators of our University attended the handover ceremony held at the Senate Meeting Hall of our University. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, who has been serving as Rector since 2020, congratulated our Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Asım Kaplancıklı and wished him success.

In his speech, our Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Asım Kaplancıklı said; “Today; I am honored to be appointed as the Rector of Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University in the lands where an empire that ruled three continents with the prayers of Ertuğrul Gazi, the advice of Şeyh Edebali, the compassion of Hayme Ana and the faith of Osman Gazi.

I would like to express my gratitude to our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, our Higher Education Council Members and everyone who supported me, who honored me by deeming me worthy of this important duty.

In these lands where our common past and national values were born, we will work together to reach the level of contemporary civilizations shown by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. We will act in unity of hands and hearts to carry this precious heritage to the future with education, science and technology.
