At a time when Israel continues to commit crimes against humanity against the oppressed and innocent Palestinian people, our University did not remain silent about this genocide. The march in support of Palestine and East Turkestan took place on Tuesday, May 7 on the campus of our University with the intense participation of our administrative and academic staff and students.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cenk Karakurt, Prof. Dr. Sıddıka Özkaldı Karakuş and our Secretary General Lecturer Özgür Özcan also participated in the support march that started from Bayraklı road.

Ziyattin Ünal, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, who read the statement prepared on behalf of the student club representatives, said: “We declare that we will continue our protests, boycott calls and aid activities that we have carried out since the first day with the participation of tens of thousands of young people against the massacre in Gaza and East Turkistan, and that we will continue to stand by everyone who gives voice to the cry of the people of Gaza and East Turkistan, regardless of their differences.” The support march, which was accompanied by slogans commemorating Palestine, East Turkistan and all persecuted geographies, ended with the reading of the declaration.
