The series of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, precipitated by Hamas’ operation to regain control of Palestinian territories on October 7, 2023, have engendered a pressing regional security conundrum in the Middle East. Regrettably, the recurring narrative of human tragedy unfolds once again within the region’s borders.
Israel’s protracted and inhumane treatment of Palestine over the years has not only posed a grave peril to the global community but has also exacted a devastating toll on numerous innocent civilians, who have lost their lives and property in the wake of these relentless attacks. A somber reality emerges when we observe that a significant proportion of those perishing in these conflicts are women and children, signifying a calculated and systemic form of atrocity, akin to genocide, rather than a conventional inter-state war.
While the entire world bears witness to the threats and disproportionate use of force inflicted upon the civilian populace of Gaza by the Israeli authorities, the assaults and bombings persist unabated, despite the vociferous international reactions. Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University maintains that the only viable solution to the regional conundrum lies in the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state, delineated by the 1967 borders, preserving territorial integrity and designating Jerusalem as its capital, as stated by our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. From Crimea to the Caucasus, from the Balkans to Palestine, from Arakan to East Turkistan, and from Kashmir to Syria, it becomes the collective duty and aspiration of humanity to establish a world where individuals coexist in harmony and tranquility across all regions afflicted by injustice and oppression. The obstructions to human dignity must be resisted, not only in Palestine but equally in distant corners of the globe such as Guatemala, Colombia, or elsewhere. In light of the present circumstances, it is a must for international organizations and all nations to unite in order to quell the prolonged oppression, intimidation, and unrest that have plagued Palestine for an extended duration.
In line with these sentiments, we endorse the righteous struggle of oppressed and marginalized populations worldwide, with a particular emphasis on the Palestinian people, who have endured an enduring ordeal. We fervently hope that the stream of bloodshed and tears may swiftly subside. We believe that the realization of a more equitable world is within reach. Respectfully Conveyed to the Public.
