Ninety-two candidates commenced their medical studies at our Faculty of Medicine during the 2023-2024 Academic Year. The ceremony to mark the occasion was held at Şeyh Edebali Culture and Congress Centre where the students dawned their white coats. The ceremony was attended by

Bilecik Deputy Governor Akın Ağca, our Rector Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, Bilecik Provincial Protocol, our faculty members, and the families of the students on Thursday, 19th October.

The program began with a moment of silence and the singing of our national anthem, followed by the Dean of our Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Rıza Dundar's opening speech. Plaques were awarded to Osmaneli Mayor Münür Şahin, who fostered various collaborations with our Faculty of Medicine, as well as to representatives of Ayde Aluminium, Arslan Aluminium, Bien Ceramics, and Doğan Tractor.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, emphasized that the research conducted at our Faculty of Medicine benefits the health requirements of our province and regional inhabitants. In conjunction with our students, we aim to elevate our university's academic standards while offering satisfactory healthcare services to the community. Additionally, we have recently established the Faculty of Dentistry and plan to welcome students soon. Thanks to our affiliation studies with the Ministry of Health, our Faculty of Medicine Education and Research Hospital now serves our citizens by providing expert treatment for health needs such as cardiology, angiography, and burns. Healthcare services including cardiology, angiography, and treatment for burns are being provided by specialised physicians at our Education and Research Hospital to cater to the medical needs of our province's citizens.

Our Rector Beydemir congratulated our students who took their first steps into the profession of medicine by wearing their white coats and said, "White coat means cleanliness, purity and dirt-free. In your professional life, not only the apron we wear, but also our inner world should be white. As part of your profession, you will encounter people with problems, children and the elderly every minute of every day. Remember that; every elderly person is your father, mother, grandfather. Because both you and us and this homeland are standing with their prayers. Do not let any gains you will make in the future get in front of your conscience
