On July 5, 2024, we gathered with our alumni to commemorate the graduation day celebrations. In a focus group meeting with our 2024 alumni, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the economics department's program learning outcomes. In the meeting, moderated by Asst. Prof. Serkan Varsak, one of our vice chairs of the department, we discussed the expectations of our students when they enrolled in the economics department and the career goals that were shaped during their education and training processes.
The issues faced by the students and the challenges observed in the Economics undergraduate programme throughout their academic careers were also discussed. We solicited input from the students, who are the internal stakeholders and primary beneficiaries of the program, regarding potential solutions to these issues. Academic staff and student advisors attended the meeting, as well as research assistants Dr. Hüseyin Safa Ünal, Oğuzhan Ata, Nakşıdil Alparslan, and Bilal Orhan. The students were invited to share their opinions on a range of topics, including academic and career advicing, and defined processes. We would like to extend our gratitude to our alumni who attended the meeting and contributed their valuable insights.
The report prepared by our department accreditation commission on both the results of the survey administered to alumn, regarding the program learning outcomes and the focus group meeting held with alumni submitted to the department administration for review.
