At Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Turkish Language Teaching and Research Center (TÖMER), Turkish language courses are designed to equally develop the four core skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The courses aim to equip students with the Turkish language skills needed for everyday communication and to meet their practical needs in daily life.
Courses are delivered by experienced instructors and are offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels:
Beginner Level (A1–A2)
A1 Level
Learning is structured around basic concepts and real-life situations.
Students can understand familiar words and very basic expressions about themselves, their families, and immediate surroundings when people speak slowly and clearly.
They can comprehend simple texts like catalogues, signs, or posters.
By the end of the course, students are able to introduce themselves and meet basic needs using simple language.
A2 Level
The focus is on developing fundamental communication skills.
Students can understand commonly used phrases and expressions related to personal information, shopping, local geography, and employment.
They can grasp the main idea in short, clear messages and understand basic information in simple texts such as announcements, instructions, menus, and schedules.
They are also able to understand short personal letters.
Intermediate Level (B1–B2)
B1 Level
Students begin to use connected speech to describe experiences, dreams, hopes, and ambitions.
They can understand the main points of radio and television programs when the speech is slow and clear.
Familiar topics in work, school, or leisure are generally understood.
They can comprehend and interpret texts that include frequently used expressions related to daily life and professional language.
B2 Level
At this stage, learners can communicate fluently and naturally with native speakers.
They are able to write essays or reports that provide supporting arguments and express their viewpoints.
They can understand most TV news, current affairs programs, and films that use standard language.
They are also able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various options on a given topic.
Advanced Level (C1–C2)
C1 Level
Students can follow long and complex speech even when the structure is not clearly signposted.
They can read and interpret long, complex, factual, or literary texts, even those not related to their own field.
They express themselves fluently and spontaneously with minimal effort in word selection.
Language use is flexible and effective for social, academic, and professional purposes.
They can produce clear, well-structured, and detailed texts on complex subjects.
