The Bilecik University Molecular Biology and Genetics Club (GENECELL) has been established to operate under the supervision of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Science at Bilecik University, located at the Faculty of Science, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department, Gülümbe-Bilecik address.
Mission:
The club's purpose is to create the necessary infrastructure to teach and apply the science of Molecular Biology and Genetics to students interested in this field. It aims to provide its members with a scientific working environment within its capabilities. By fostering a lasting connection among department students, the club seeks to inform them about potential career options available after their studies and provide detailed information about these fields. Additionally, the club aims to assist students and members in defining their future goals through its activities.
Additionally, our Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University is continually expanding its resources, actively initiating projects within the university, and contributing to university-wide activities. The department participates in external presentations, conferences, and seminars both as listeners and presenters, and plans to conduct its own conferences and congresses in the upcoming term. As Gene-Cell Club, we have also established a Facebook page and a blog to organize and present our activities. Our goal is to create an interactive environment on our blog where comments and responses can be exchanged. The blog is intended to be an alternative platform for thinking, questioning, and discussing, as well as sharing new developments in the media related to our department and various course notes.
Activities:
1- The club organizes seminars within the university to teach its members about Molecular Biology and Genetics.
2- The club establishes relationships with relevant individuals and organizations to promote and disseminate the field of Molecular Biology and Genetics. It organizes conferences, seminars, summer/winter schools, and discussions, and publishes articles, brochures, and journals to generate interest in the subject.
3- To ensure the practice of Molecular Biology and Genetics is conducted ethically, the club will provide information on scientific ethics to its members through seminars and conferences.
