The Department of Foreign Languages affiliated to the Rectorate was established to carry out the foreign language courses of the units in associate degree and undergraduate programmes.

Since 2013-2014 academic year, the compulsory courses English-I and English-II have been carried out by the Department of Foreign Languages through Distance Education.

By the 2016-2017 academic year, intense English has been taught in optional English preparatory classes, and as of 2018, the department proposed the Higher Education Institution to establish a School of Foreign Languages. With the establishment of the School of Foreign Languages on 14/02/2019, Optional English Preparatory courses are carried out by the School of Foreign Languages.
