HORIZONTAL TRANSFER

There are two different types of horizontal transfers:

1. Horizontal Transfer with General Academic Average: The announcement is made by the Rectorate once a year, before the fall semester of each academic year. Application dates are determined by the university. The department head determines the quotas. Application documents are submitted electronically first, then physically to the relevant unit. The Student Affairs Unit conducts the general application evaluation. The Faculty Board makes the final decision. Results are published electronically. Individual applications are made to the relevant unit for final registration.

2. Horizontal Transfer with Central Placement Score: The announcement is made by the Rectorate twice a year, before the fall and spring semesters. Application dates are determined by the universities. In the fall semester, the placement quota is up to 30% of the department's quota, while in the spring semester it can be up to 20% of the general placement quota. If a student's central placement score in the year of enrollment is equal to or higher than the minimum score for our undergraduate program in the same year, the student is entitled to apply for a transfer, including the preparatory class.

After final registration, the course equivalencies are determined by the Department Equivalency Committee upon the student's application.

Our faculty publishes announcements regarding transfer applications on its official website during the fall and spring semesters.

VERTICAL TRANSFER

Vertical transfer students are placed by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center and are determined according to the Regulation on the Continuation of Undergraduate Education for Graduates of Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Programs, published in the Official Gazette dated 19/2/2002 and numbered 24676. Quotas are determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) after obtaining the opinion of the Faculty Board.
After final registration, the course equivalencies are determined by the Department Equivalency Committee upon the student's application. The decision is entered into the OBS (Online Student System) by the faculty administration.

Our faculty publishes announcements regarding vertical transfer applications on its official website.
