History
The Faculty of Islamic Sciences was established based on the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 6/6/2013 and started education and training with 60 quotas in the 2017-2018 Academic Year. Our faculty gave its first graduates in 2021-2022 academic year.
General Information
The duration of education in our faculty is 4 years and the language of instruction is 30% Arabic. In the Islamic Sciences Programme, in addition to 4 years, contains 1 year of compulsory Arabic preparatory education. Within the faculty, there are the sections of ‘Basic Islamic Sciences’, ‘Islamic History and Arts’ and ‘Philosophy and Religious Sciences’ and twelve departments under these sections.
Working Opportunities for Graduates
Since the students of our faculty graduate by taking pedagogical formation education, they have job opportunities as teachers of vocational lessons in Imam-Hatip High Schools, teachers of Religious Culture and Ethics classes in Primary, Secondary and High Schools within the Ministry of National Education. They also job opportunities within the Presidency of Religious Affairs such as becoming mufti, preacher and preacheress, imam and muadhdhin in mosques, instructor in Qur'an courses, religious services counsellor and religious attaché in foreign countries. Moreover they are able to get a job as academician in Islamic Sciences and Theology Faculties, as civil servant in State Archives and as Arabic interpreter.
