Mission and Vision

Social work is a practice-based profession and academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social integration, and the empowerment and liberation of people.

Social services are a social aid and support-based program that aims to solve individual, family and community problems and to eliminate inequalities of opportunity, income distribution and injustices experienced in today's societies.

The aim of the Social Services Associate Degree Program is to train new qualified, equipped and knowledgeable intermediate staff needed in the implementation of social services.

With the Social Services Program, students are provided with:

  • Ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the field of social services
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to analyze social issues and provide solutions
  • Social justice, human rights, shared responsibility and respect for differences
  • It is aimed to provide the skills to use information and communication technologies effectively.

Students who graduate from the Social Services Associate Degree Program are given the title of "Social Services Specialist Assistants" or "Social Service Personnel".

Graduates' Employment Opportunities: Graduates of the Social Services Associate Degree Program can work in various units of organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies (Orphanages, Orphanages, Children's Homes, Nursing Homes, Elderly Care Centers, Social Service Centers, Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, etc.), in public and private hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health, in guidance research centers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, in private education and rehabilitation centers, in nurseries and daycare centers, in prisons, in non-governmental organizations and foundations.

Departments that students can pass with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) for the program: Students who graduate from the Social Services Associate Degree program can apply to the "Social Work or Sociology" undergraduate program with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). Those who successfully complete the Sociology or Social Work undergraduate program are given the title of "Social Worker and Social Service Specialist".
