The People's Republic of China and the European Union, which direct the world economy, aim to direct their economies by carrying out their production and services in accordance with the Circular Economy Model. The European Union published the EU Green Deal in order to provide economic benefit by creating new business opportunities in line with the requirements of Sustainable Development, and obliged companies exporting to the EU to comply with this agreement. Since approximately >45% of our country's exports are to the EU, existing companies in Turkey (along with their suppliers) that export to the EU must comply with this agreement. Since the beginning of 2021, the giant companies of the EU market have made their choices among their suppliers operating in Turkey in favor of companies that comply with the "Green Agreement" or have started work and carry out "Industrial sustainability" studies.
Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University is the FIRST and ONLY university that trains "Sustainability Experts" needed by the sectors by opening the "Industrial Sustainability" interdisciplinary master's program in order to support companies' transition to the Circular Economy Model. According to the decision of COP26, experts who graduate from the program will be able to carry out their sustainability studies according to scientific data and publish them on relevant platforms, in line with the obligation of companies to publish scientifically based sustainability reports accurately and realistically.
