International Relations, as a branch of science, was separated from the Political Science and established as a separate department after World War I, with the rapid increase in the number of states in the international system. As the importance of the department, the first examples of which we saw in the USA and Britain, became apparent, it began to be opened as a department in Turkey. Academicians in the International Relations, with the scientific research and activities they conduct, actually provide a guiding and instructive basis for Turkish foreign policy. Especially the developments in information and information technologies have led to the emergence of International Relations specialists as a class that is taken into consideration in the determination of domestic and foreign state policies.
Bilecik Seyh Edebali University, one of the youngest universities in Türkiye, is one of the fastest growing and model universities among Türkiye's new universities. Our university, which has attracted attention with its breakthroughs in the academic field in recent years, has started to reap the fruits of its scientific investments. Our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which operates as an innovative and sharing higher education institution with its academic and scientific achievements and quality of education, has an important place among the regional university faculties. Our International Relations department has Political History and International Law researches. Political History examines the political structures of states, their internal politics and their relations with each other, which are the main areas of interest of the International Relations discipline. The Political History department is important in terms of laying the groundwork for the fields of International Relations and International Law.
In this context, it is a very promising department for students. Our International Relations department, which is not yet active and is planned to accept students in the shortest possible time, will cooperate with other programs in the faculty, especially the Political Science and Public Administration, Economics, Business and Finance departments. It is strongly believed that the cooperation with the Economics and Business departments will contribute to graduates finding jobs, especially in the private sector.
