AIM OF THE PROGRAMME
Interior Design Programme, Interior design is formed by designing the space in accordance with the character of the individual and questioning the aesthetic, functional and psychological aspects of the interior environment. Today, the emergence of different lifestyles, the continuous increase in technological knowledge and changing social values have created new requirements. Today's and future designers are expected to have an understanding of design that respects the social and cultural rights of the society, cultural heritage and nature, to put forward designs that consider the relationship of interior spaces with the building and urban texture, as well as the reuse of buildings that have lost their function and to make original designs for the interiors of old monuments worthy of protection.
The professional qualifications to be gained to individuals to be employed in today's interior design field, where quality and competition are very intense and consumer needs are changing, are of great importance.
FORM AND TITLE OF TRAINING
Our students who are successful in the courses taught in the Interior Design programme and who successfully complete the internships with a total of 30 working days of workplace applied training will be awarded the title of Interior Design Technician.
One of the biggest problems of industrial organisations, especially enterprises that produce for interiors, is the lack of technical staff who can make original design. The aim of this programme is to meet the need for designer workforce needed in enterprises and offices.
They can work in the design departments of Furniture and Decoration Workshops, as project staff in restoration companies, as drawing staff or designers in architectural and engineering offices, in model making offices, etc. sectors as managers, executive assistants, officials, controllers.
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES
Students who successfully complete this programme will be able to make vertical transfer with the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). These programmes can apply to Handicrafts and Production, Traditional Turkish Handicrafts, Traditional Turkish Arts, Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Architecture undergraduate programmes.
Since the two-year education in this programme is considered as a step of undergraduate completion, when the undergraduate completion of the department in question is made, all the rights gained by the faculty graduate will also have all the rights.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Students who graduate from the programme will be able to work both in public institutions (such as the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, General Directorate of Foundations, Ministry of Culture and Tourism) and in private sector, architecture, interior architecture and design offices. They are also in high demand in environmental bureaus, municipalities and restoration offices.
TYPE OF EDUCATION
The programme carries out its educational activities in 2 years and four semesters. During these periods, both manual drawing and computerised drawing courses are given. In addition, all kinds of architectural courses are taught.
Our school is the only institution in Turkey that makes models with stonemasonry. In these works carried out for various institutions, our students are also included in these works and stone model workmanship is seriously processed.
