GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The Finance program is a 4-year full-time program. In order for a student to graduate from the finance undergraduate program, they must successfully complete at least 240 ECTS of mandatory and elective courses, receive a minimum grade of DD or YT in all courses, and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00.

Students graduating from this program are entitled to receive a bachelor's degree in Finance. Additionally, graduates can apply to graduate programs for further study.

EXAMS

At our university, midterm, final, make-up, excuse, placement, and single course exams are conducted.

ASSESSMENT

A student's success is determined by evaluating their performance in midterm exams, assignments, practicals, laboratory work, and the results of the final and make-up exams.

The total weight of a course’s midterm evaluations (midterm exam, quizzes, assignments, and practicals) is determined by the instructor within the first two weeks of the semester, and must be no less than 30% and no more than 60%.

GRADING

For each course taken, students are awarded one of the following letter grades as the final course grade by the instructor. The coefficients and corresponding scores out of 100 are shown below:

Grade Coefficient Absolute System Equivalent
AA 4.0 93.01-100.00
AB 3.7 83.67-93.00
BA 3.3 76.67-83.66
BB 3.0 69.67-76.66
BC 2.7 60.34-69.66
CB 2.3 56.61-60.33
CC 2.0 53.33-56.60
DC 1.5 49.00-53.32
DD 1.0 45.00-48.99
FF 0.0 44.99 and below

Other grades are used as follows:

a) DZ grade: Given to students who do not fulfill attendance requirements. It is treated as an FF in the GPA calculation. The student must retake the course for which they received a DZ grade.

b) IZ grade: Given to students who do not meet attendance requirements or conditions for practicals due to academic leave. It does not affect the GPA. The student must retake the course for which they received an IZ grade.

c) YT grade: Awarded to students who pass courses that do not count toward the GPA.

ç) YZ grade: Awarded to students who fail courses that do not count toward the GPA.

d) GM grade: Given for missed exams. If a student with a GM grade takes the midterm make-up exam, the GM grade is converted into a numerical grade. If the student does not take the midterm make-up exam, the GM grade is converted to zero (0). The grade obtained in the make-up exam will be assessed together with midterm grades to determine the student's final grade ranking. For students who do not participate in the make-up exam, the GM grade is accepted as zero (0) for the purpose of calculating their success grade.

e) SD grade: Given for courses removed as a result of curriculum adjustments, for which the student is not responsible. It does not count towards the GPA. It is shown on the transcript but not on the grade report.

COURSE RETAKE

Students must primarily retake courses for which they received an FF, YZ, or DZ grade, except for prerequisite courses they did not meet (if there are any in the program). If the failed course is an elective rather than a mandatory course, the student may choose a new elective course instead.

When retaking failed courses, the most recent grade obtained will be included in the GPA calculation. During their studies, students may also retake courses they have previously passed to improve their GPA, and the most recent grade will be included in the GPA calculation.

SUCCESS EVALUATION

To be successful, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00. Students who do not meet this mandatory GPA requirement are considered unsuccessful. According to the success evaluation directive, students are designated as honors or high honors students.
