SINGLE COURSE EXAMINATION

Single Course Examination
05 December 2024 Thursday

Students who have only one course (with an FF grade) remaining for graduation are granted the right to take a Single Course Exam at the end of each semester. Students who wish to take the Single Course Exam must fill out the Single Course Application Form on the Student Information System (SIS), print it, and submit the signed version to the Student Affairs Unit of our school no later than two days before the exam date specified in the academic calendar. In order for the student to apply for the exam, they must meet the criteria specified in Article 32 of our school's Associate Degree Education-Training and Examination Regulations.

Article 32 – Students with a single failed course:

(1) At the end of the fall semester, spring semester, or summer school (if available), students who have met the attendance requirement for all courses but have received an FF or YZ grade in a single course (or passed all courses except those determined by the academic unit’s board of directors) or failed to meet the required GPA for graduation, despite passing all courses, will be granted only one additional exam opportunity for the failed course, as specified in the academic calendar. However, students who are unable to raise their GPA to 2.00 with the grade obtained from this exam will not be granted the right to take the Single Course Exam.

(2) The evaluation of this single course exam will be conducted without considering the in-semester exam grades, where FF is considered below 49, and grades above 50 will be converted into a success grade by dividing by 25, corresponding to the coefficient closest to the one specified in Article 22.

(3) Students who meet the criteria stated in the first paragraph must apply in writing to their respective departments no later than five working days before the single course exam date specified in the academic calendar. The relevant department will review the student's situation and inform the Student Affairs Directorate about which course the student has the right to take the single course exam. This exam right is granted to the student only once, and students who apply but do not attend the exam will not be granted this right again. Students with missing ECTS credits for graduation can request the single course exam to be taken for the failed course that was removed.
